Newcastle United skipper and captain Michael Owen is Carling’s Cup Player of the Month for September as he was voted by 68 percent of the fans. Owen scored three goals in 4 games and he bested teammates Shay Given, Charles N’Zogbia, Sebastien Bassong and Fabricio Coloccini. It has been a tough month for Newcastle and Michael Owen who is still out because of a groin injury.
